Compare HairGenesis® to Avacor Hair Products Review

For men and women concerned about pattern hair loss, it is important to buy the best hair loss treatment product available.  One of the better known hair growth product lines, Avacor, contains saw palmetto and the drug minoxidil.  While much research has been conducted on minoxidil, and while some excellent research has been conducted on HairGenesis® --- which contains a uniquely potent form of saw palmetto --- we are unaware of any research specifically proving utility for the proprietary composition in Avacor against pattern hair loss, either in men or women.  On the other hand, HairGenesis® is supported with published medical research specifically showing that our proprietary formulation actually works.

Avacor

What is Avacor

The Avacor hair treatment product line consists of an ingestible vitamin type pill called Nutricap, a minoxidil-containing liquid to be applied to the scalp, a shampoo and a styling product called Boost.

What Avacor Costs

A three month supply is advertised online for $179.99

What is Claimed

As advertised, Avacor appears designed to treat male pattern hair loss and hair loss in women.  Avacor seems to rely on inferential and direct testimonials rather than formal scientific research.  Because the Avacor line is based in part on the activity of minoxidil, Avacor points to research testing minoxidil for hair loss.

Where’s the Proof?

To our knowledge, there is no peer-reviewed published research supporting the proprietary admixture contained within the Avacor line in the treatment of pattern hair loss.  Nor have we found any peer-reviewed scientific research testing Avacor in men experiencing hair loss or women experiencing thinning hair.

What Can Go Wrong

Minoxidil has been shown to offer benefit in stimulating hair growth in men and also women but the drug also comes with a list of potentially serious health warnings.  The Avacor website also touches on this subject by stating ...."Stop using any product, and see a physician if you experience: chest pain, rapid heart beat, faintness, dizziness, suddenly unexplained weight gain, water retention, skin redness or irritation. Use only as directed." Moreover, in the absence of definitive proof, such as that which supports HairGenesis®, it may be difficult for any product line, including this one to substantiate that their proprietary product will actually prevent hair loss and/or thicken one’s hair.

Why HairGenesis® May Be a Better Choice

Unlike the drug-based hair loss treatments, HairGenesis® has never been linked to negative side effects of any kind.  Unlike the non-drug based hair loss products, HairGenesis® has been proven safe and highly effective under IRB-monitored, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical research, as well as university-based formal research, now demonstrating a dual-mechanism of action against inflammation in the hair follicle and pathologic DHT.  HairGenesis® is the only non-drug hair loss treatment formula   supported with proven research published in the peer-reviewed medical and scientific literature (pubmed.com).
