Back to Comparison ChartFor men and women concerned about pattern hair loss, it is important to buy the best hair loss treatment product available. Here, we compare HairGenesis® to Procerin®.
One of the hair growth treatment lines sold through the internet is Procerin®. The product line consists of an oral supplement and a liquid product known as Procerin XT.
A six month supply sells for $219.99
The makers of Procerin® describe a clinical study conducted by Dr. Peter Helton at DETUAG Testing Centers. They go on to claim "93.75% of those in the study with opinions agreed that Procerin helped to slow their hair loss (see Graph 2) and 93% of those with opinions stated they would recommend it to friends and family."
The clinical study reported on the Procerin website does not seem to be found in the scientifically-validated database for medical research (PubMed.com). Nor does the methodology appear to conform to the typical standards generally employed within the setting of IRB (Institutional Review Board) clinical research trials. Thus, in our view, these issues raise questions pertaining to the validity and claims associated with this study.
While we cannot be responsible for the safety of any product other than HairGenesis®, Procerin® appears to be based on substances which are generally considered safe when taken as directed. However, in the absence of definitive proof, such as that which supports HairGenesis®, it may be difficult for any product line, including this one to substantiate that their product will actually prevent hair loss and/or thicken one's hair.
Unlike the drug-based hair loss treatments, HairGenesis® has never been linked to negative side effects of any kind. Unlike the non-drug based hair loss products, HairGenesis® has been proven safe and highly effective under IRB-monitored, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical research, as well as university-based formal research, now demonstrating a dual-mechanism of action against inflammation in the hair follicle and pathologic DHT. HairGenesis® is the only non-drug hair loss treatment formula supported with proven research published in the peer-reviewed medical and scientific literature (pubmed.com).

This web site is not responsible for the compositions or representations made by competing hair restoration products, or any errors or omissions that may occur as a result. At the present time, January 2009, no non-pharmaceutically derived hair loss treatment is technically required by the FDA to undergo placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical research. Nor is such research required to be submitted for validation and publication by and within the peer-reviewed medical literature. HairGenesis™ has undertaken these difficult, costly and time-intensive steps in the interest of demonstrating, for the benefit of consumers, its safety and efficacy under the most scientifically objective and stringent conditions. Among the non-drug based hair loss treatments, in successfully achieving these milestones, HairGenesis™ stands alone. Product Names are the trademarks of the companies represented by those products.
